Welcome to the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts English Faculty webpage!
The English Faculty is a large and dynamic team with a strong commitment to quality teaching and learning and our school values of excellence, equity and creativity!
Our results are among the strongest in the school, with a First in the State in Standard English in 2013, and consistent results in all HSC courses that are well above the State Average, every year. Our Extension 1 English results of 2014 were particularly notable, with over 75% of our students achieving an E4 result. NAPLAN results are also well above the State Average, in all components of the tests, every year. Our fine results are testament to the outstanding teaching and learning taking place in the faculty, and the hard work of our students.
The Faculty administer and organise Debating for Years 7-12. We have enjoyed numerous successes over the years, with teams annually reaching zone and inter-zone finals.
