Justin Timberlake Workshop

Print PDF

On Tuesday 22nd November Justin Timberlake took time out from his Australian promotional tour for the movie ‘Trolls’ to work with some of our music students. The master-class was filmed by 20th Century Fox’s film crew and will soon be released initially through the school and related media channels and eventually through broader internet channels.

Performers included Ella-Jane Sharpe, Gus Noakes, Arlo Sim, Owen Gibson, Fergus Lupton, Ivy-Jane Browne and the Newtones. Year 10 students, Harvey Geraghty, Itay Shachar, Noah Martin, Ewan McQuilty, Rosie Meader and Finn Koslowsky also performed as ’house band’.

Justin was very impressed with both the level of performance and the quality of the original songs. There was an instant rapport built with students and the feedback provided by Justin was incredibly warm, positive and encouraging.

The Data Collection is an annual national count of the number of students provided with educational adjustments as a result of their disability as defined broadly under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and reinforces the obligations that schools have towards students under the Disability Standards for Education 2005.

In 2015, the P&C presented Newtown High School of the Performing Arts with a special gift to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Years of archived material has been sourced, digitalised and compiled to produce this film highlighting the work of both students and teachers.  Alumni have also been included, proudly and fondly reflecting on their time at the school and what they have gone on to do with their lives.  Robin Amm and Stephen Gray, as past and present Principals of the school, are acknowledged for their great contributions.  The P&C hope that you enjoy watching the twenty five year journey of this incredible school unfold throughout the presentation.
