NHSPA P & C NHSPA P&C Achievements 2013

P&C Achievements - 2013

  • $36,528 disbursed in faculty grants for academic, welfare and sporting activities across a series of faculty grants to assist the school over 2013 and 2014. The faculty grants provided for up to $4000 to each non-performing arts faculties in the school, with the aim to support teachers to enhance the student learning experience. This included installing water bubblers outside the gymnasium; funding for Year 9 students to attend two-day cross curricular excursion to Canberra; purchase of two programs for Maths (Edudata and Math type); purchasing five computers which are permanently set up in English teaching classrooms; laminated wooden benches for TAS; two new laptops for LOTE; and Refurbishment of the new Learning Centre in the Library.
  • $15,579.82 for the Studio Theatre Café upgrade the installation of a formal box office, poster display box, refixing wall posters, external painting, storage enhancements, new furniture, and lighting improvements.
  • Financial support for the Dance Faculty Master Classes led by visiting US choreographer Garfield Lemonius.
  • Supporting the performing arts capacity at NHSPA by contributing to a new speaker system in the Studio Theatre valued at $14,158.05.
  • The Environment Sub‐Committee’s planning and delivery of a successful working bee involving more than 30 parents, teachers and students which saw extensive weeding, planting, mulching, fence painting, paving repairs, and rubbish removal.
  • Purchasing a new sound board for the Studio Theatre, costing $7,800.
  • Engaging with parents and the school through supporting auditions, orientations and Showcase performances, particularly through staffing the Studio Theatre Café.
  • Supported the World Earth Festival and presented a Welcome BBQ.
